Janis Powers is a career health care strategy and operations consultant. She focuses on optimizing how health care dollars are spent to improve patient care. She advises clients on strategic acquisitions, transitioning care to the outpatient environment, shifting to consumer-based pricing and operational turnarounds. Her expertise lies in understanding how policy changes, competitive forces and new technologies will impact the delivery of care.

Janis is the author of the Amazon Bestselling book Health Care: Meet the American Dream. The book asserts that advances in genetic testing and AI will be leveraged to predict lifetime health care diseases and conditions for individual Americans. Such an approach "de-risks" the population and helps bring about the obsolescence of health insurance. She recently founded the company Longitudinal Health Care to bring the ideas from her book to life.

Janis has an undergraduate degree in architecture from Yale and masters' degrees in architecture and business from the University of Michigan. You can catch Janis speaking this March at South by Southwest.
