Peter joined Edwards Lifesciences as a Senior Director of Strategy when Harpoon Medical, Inc. was acquired in December of 2017. He serves as the Harpoon representative to a three-person post-merger integration team and focuses on commercialization of Harpoon’s beating-heart mitral valve repair technology.

He was a member of the founding team at Harpoon Medical, served as EVP of Business Development and General Counsel and was responsible for Harpoon’s corporate strategy, fundraising and managing the Edwards acquisition process. Harpoon sold to Edwards for $100M upfront payment with $150M in potential milestone payments in less than five years after raising just $6.5M of dilutive capital. The transaction generated a >100% IRR for investors based on the upfront payment alone.

Prior to Harpoon, Peter worked as an associate in a large law firm representing startups and VCs in a variety of corporate transactions ranging from company formation to fundraising and M&A deals. Peter holds a JD/MBA from the University of Virginia, a B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina, has a wife and two small boys, and has traveled over 30,000 nautical miles in various professional capacities on private yachts.
